Schools in Cumberland County will be closed today, Wed. Feb 7, due to a combination of overnight precipitation and current road conditions.
Pictou County and Tatamagouche Regional Academy are also closed today, to allow for ongoing cleanup efforts at schools and throughout municipalities and towns.
Schools in the municipality of East Hants and the county of Colchester are open, but buses will be travelling on paved roads only.
All offices and worksites are open.
Crews have been diligent on cleaning up the significant snow, but care is still required as students travel to and from the school sites and bus stops.
Please remember:
- Large snowbanks can change sightlines, and pathways can be slippery, some sidewalks may not be fully clear.
- Remind children not to play on or around snowbanks while waiting for the bus.
- Buses will operate but expect delays during the morning and afternoon commute.
- Entrances and exits at schools have been cleared and crews will continue to work moving more of the snow when appropriate to safely do so.
